FAQ

If your question is not answered below, please Contact Us.

Q: What technology do you use in your genetic tests?

A: We use a proprietary microarray technology from AutoGenomics that incorporates Target Signal Amplification PCR chemistry with a high yield DNA extraction process.

Q: What samples can you work with?

A: We can work with most non-invasive samples such as buccal swab, blood and urine.

Q: How long does it take to get a result after ordering?

A: After we receive your sample, standard processing will take 3 to 5 business days to provide the test result.

Q: What formats do the result report come in?

A: Your result report, as standard practice, will be sent to you via fax or email, depending on the information we have on file. The report will be in PDF format.

Q: Can I drop off my sample at Prescient Lab Services?

A: Unfortunately, due to health and safety regulations, Prescient Lab Services cannot accommodate direct sample drop-off at our laboratory. If you are a client encountering issues with the typical FedEx delivery schedule, please contact us at directly at 1-855-739-5669 or customerservice@prescientlabservices.com and one of our Support Specialists will be glad to help you.

Q: How can I send my kit back to Prescient Lab Services?

A: You can ship it to us via FedEx to the following address: 1600 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad CA. 92008

Q: How quickly must I send in samples for the drug metabolism testing, women’s health testing, and specialty testing?

A: For drug metabolism testing, as buccal swabs are immersed in DNA stabilizing solution after the swabbing procedure, they are stable for about a month. It is recommended that the sample be sent to the lab within a week of swabbing.

For infectious disease testing, E-swabs are used. Samples should be sent within 2 days of sample draw.

For specialty testing, either buccal cells or blood specimens are required. Blood specimens need to be spun down and the serum needs to be sent to the lab using dry ice. The sample should reach the lab within 2-3 days of sample draw.

Please keep in mind that FedEx shipment takes two business days, so if you send a sample to us on a Thursday, we will not receive it until the following Monday.
